Our client is seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join the Technical Support Division. This division provides engineering support for organizations with specialized engineering and technical expertise in various disciplines and areas. The engineer will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in evaluating, selecting, applying, and adapting engineering solutions, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Responsibilities will include preparation and/or modification of Civil/Structural engineering drawings, calculations, plans, layout, and design in addition to project specifications, project proposals, and cost estimates. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus. 10 years of experience in structural engineering design of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures using US Design Codes and Standards. Extensive experience using industry codes such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, and UBC is required. Basic architectural knowledge, enough to serve basic building re-designs/renovations/remodeling. Experience in using STAADPro software. In addition, knowledge of MicroStation or other drafting software. Strong technical and engineering design skills in a design office environment. A Professional Engineering Registration/License from the US/CA is a plus. Key Responsibilities Produce a full-fledged engineering design package that includes all required documents/drawings, for all oil and gas facilities throughout the Northern Area. Perform structural design including production of construction documents related to hydrocarbon facilities. Identify design requirements and prepare necessary design calculations using hand calculations and software such as STAADPro and V8i. Perform engineering assessments for the repair of deteriorated concrete, prepare technical reports, and verify ‘As-Built’ record drawings for accuracy. Prepare layout plans and structural engineering details for development by draftsmen and designers. Prepare detailed scope of work, material take-offs, and cost estimates as part of the construction documents. Perform field activities such as site surveys and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within the project area. Participate in project walkthroughs and provide reports of findings. Provide mentoring and transfer knowledge to entry-level engineers and designers. Interviews Stage: 2.1 LHR Americas preliminary phone/video interview: A member of the Talent Acquisition team from LHR Americas will first schedule a call with you to discuss the details of the position, your interests, and qualifications. Furthermore, your English level will be evaluated at this stage, ONLY native or advanced speakers will approve this evaluation. If this preliminary phone/video interview is successful, your resume will be submitted to our client. If your preliminary phone/video interview is not successful, our Talent Acquisition consultant will inform you. 2.2 Client Face to Face interview: This interview will happen only if your resume is approved by our client, we cannot guarantee the time our client will take to approve your resume, but it should take less than a week. If your resume is approved a member of the Talent Acquisition Team will get back to you and schedule a face-to-face meeting in a defined location. You will be told to go to the location. The client interview contains technical questions that help assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field and may include a behavioral evaluation. Be prepared to explain how you approach problems and produce solutions. If your face-to-face interview is successful, the hiring team will further evaluate your resume, decide, and then receive a conditional job offer. If your face-to-face interview is not approved, LHR Americas will inform you. 2.3 There could be additional video interviews with hiring managers, which may also contain technical questions that help us assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field. 3. Conditional Offer: A successful interview may result in a conditional offer of employment. Conditions for employment include but are not limited to medical examinations, and permission to secure a visa to work and reside in-country. 4. Relocation Process: After your offer is accepted and all conditions for employment are met, you will be assigned a relocation advisor from LHR Americas.
