Indeed Job purpose

To co-ordinate all mechanical engineering functions and achieve a successful outcome technically, commercially to the clients’ requirements on our exciting project in Catterick, North Yorkshire.

What you'll be doing

  • Technically vet all procurement packages.
  • Co-ordinate the services for their proper integration into the building and liaise with other disciplines.
  • Oversee the production of all drawings including plant and sub-contract layouts to ensure co-ordination.
  • Provide support to the Project Surveyor on commercial matters.
  • Undertake & manage all labour/direct material matters.
  • Undertake a regular audit of the Productivity Scheme & ensure the same is completed with the Foreman/Site Manager.
  • Issue labour targets ahead of the work activity on site.
  • Regularly progress the site production report on site with Foreman/Site Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of labour and material elements used in the pre-fabricated sections of the project.
  • Manage technical and progress issues relating to Plant and Sub-Contractor elements using technical submission process
  • Provide support to the Site Manager on any installation matters.
  • Maintain Procurement Schedules, Technical Submissions, Drawing Registers
  • With the Site Manager carry out regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews to plan, progress and monitor installations.

What we'll need from you

  • Must hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must have experience of working on healthcare projects (P21/P22)
  • CITB 5 Day SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • Must have experience of working in a contractor-based background
  • A thorough understanding of conditions of contract and budget control is also required
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Should possess good communication and negotiating skills
  • The person must be capable of supervising site staff if required
  • Ideally be knowledgeable in all project engineer/management techniques required in M&E projects.
