  • This job is primarily human resources, but at the start, you will have the responsibility of customer service and administration as well. Over time, as our company grows, your responsibilities may narrow into just one of these responsibilities e.g. just human resources

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the hiring process for our company
  • Surveying salaries to see what the market wage for a position in a location might be
  • Conducting interviews
  • Studying resumes
  • Researching people through internet searches and their social media
  • Assisting in the onboarding process
  • Approving vacation requests
  • Solving internal company human resources issues
  • Assisting in the hiring of everyone from our warehouse to developers to executives to product development technicians

Customer Service & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Communicating with our customers (international distributors, retailers, consumers) about their educational toy purchases
  • Communicating with people (teachers, kids, parents) over social media about our educational toys
  • Invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Collaboratively and in a non-pushy way suggesting other products that customers may be interested in purchasing
  • Finding vendors that our company will use
  • Making phone calls with our vendors and customers (free phone calls will be provided by the company)
  • Record keeping and organizing our files
  • Empathetically trying to understand our customers’ problems (and their root causes) so we can solve them
  • Passing information to our production team so we can improve our products
  • Keeping track of our shipments to our customers
  • Maintaining customer relationship and vendor relationship management sheets
  • Streamlining our systems to make them more efficient and better for our team members and customers

Time Commitment

  • When the company hires you, it EXPECTS you to work with us for at least one year. It is our HOPE that you will work with us for much longer than that, ideally your entire career.
  • This is a full-time position with 40 hours a week of work ON AVERAGE.
  • Hours are somewhat flexible. Can start at 8 and finish at 4 without a lunch break (lunch is not paid). You can start at 9, take 1 hour for an unpaid lunch and finish at 6.

  • This is a work-from-home (or a work-from-a-coworking-office-space) position
  • You must be in a Western hemisphere time zone i.e. between GMT -8 (Los Angeles) and GMT -3 (Sao Paulo)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay is done every 2 weeks
  • Bonuses are given at the beginning of every February BASED ON MERIT
  • Bonuses range from 0% to 15% of yearly salary. They average around 5%. Some employee get 0%. Others get 10%-15%.
  • 10 working days of paid time off (aka 2 weeks) will be offered. You will get your vacation after a 3 month probationary period
  • The US holidays of Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day are paid holidays. They are not deducted from your vacation.
  • You will need to work on Black Friday, Christmas Eve (you leave early), and New Years Eve (you leave early).
  • We do not offer health insurance
  • You are responsible for paying taxes in your home country
