Essential Job Functions Responsible for accurately and efficiently handling customs declarations for import, export, and transit activitiesEnsure strict compliance with customs laws and regulations, including staying updated on any changes and translating them into operational practicesCommunicate with customs authorities, shipping lines, airlines, and other relevant parties to resolve any customs queries, issues, and inspectionsProvide advice to internal stakeholders and clients on customs regulations, trade restrictions, and potential customs dutiesProcess customs documentation and ensure accurate capture of all relevant dataActively contribute to continuous improvement of our customs processes and implementation of efficiency enhancements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Requirements Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipmentVision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focusSitting for extended periods of time Other Skills / Abilities Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Customs Clearance within a freight forwarding or logistics companyExtensive knowledge of customs laws, procedures, and trade restrictionsExperience with customs declaration systems and softwareStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracyExcellent communication skills in, both verbal and writtenAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyProactive and results-oriented attitude with a strong team spiritIn-depth knowledge of AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) concepts, processes, and requirementsExperience in preparing AEO certification applications and supporting documentationFamiliarity with AEO audits and assessmentsStrong understanding of the benefits and obligations associated with AEO status Education & Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Customs Clearance within a freight forwarding or logistics company Certifications & Licenses Professional certification may be required in some areas
